Do I have Diabetes in eye ?
If you are a known diabetic or you have uncontrolled blood sugar which is recently detected then you may get Diabetes in your eyes.
How can I find out if my eyes have diabetes?
Diabetes affects retina ( back part of your eye) which is not visible to you. When Diabetes affects your retina , the condition is called as Diabetic Retinopathy .It is caused by damage to the blood vessels in the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye.
So do I need to get my retina checked if I have diabetes?
Yes. Even if you have no symptoms you should get your retina checked periodically.Diabetes sometimes does not affect your vision until it reaches advanced stage.
What are the symptoms of diabetic Retinopathy
Blurred or fluctuating vision
Impaired color vision
Dark or empty areas in your visual field
Floaters (spots or dark strings floating in your vision)
Difficulty seeing at night

Early stages/Mild stage:

Moderate stage :
A: Control of blood sugar
B: Lasers
C: Injections
Severe/Advanced stage
A: Lasers
B: Injections
C: Surgery
